Angelica Chandler’s vocation is performance improvement. She has refined a strategy that re-envisions employee development into a data-driven process composed of raw materials, drivers and end products. This approach has produced interlocking recruitment initiatives, role-based learner journeys and leadership development programs that are fast to implement, meet unique operational needs and results in employees who are ready and empowered to take the organizations into the future.
Angelica has combined this with a strong operational focus and servant leadership approach that creates cross-departmental collaboration and high performing teams. She has more than 32 years of aviation operation and leadership experience with Delta Air Lines. She has extensive experience in curriculum learning and development, having spent 15 years managing the Curriculum Development teams to design and develop online and in-person training for several divisions at Delta Air Lines.
The last 5 years Angelica steward the Pipeline Development team for the Technical Operations Division. In this role she led a department composed of four teams to address the mid-and-post pandemic labor shortage of qualified mechanics and other skilled labor needed to support Delta’s technical operations.
Angelica has a Black Belt in Six Sigma and is an active practitioner of Human Performance Technology (HPT).
Michael Mackey was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. His passion is promoting awareness of the opportunities a career in the skilled trades can provide.
He started his career at Northwest Airlines where he progressively performed duties of an aircraft maintenance technician, aircraft maintenance inspector, and aircraft maintenance training instructor.
He continued his career at Delta Air Lines as an aircraft maintenance training manager where he supported aircraft maintenance training instructors, maintenance training programs, and special projects in the Technical Operations Division. With Delta Air Lines anticipating a high retirement rate of aircraft maintenance technicians, Michael led a team that implemented a strategy to partner with 50 FAA Certified Aviation Maintenance Training Schools across the U.S in support of building an aircraft maintenance technician talent pipeline.
Michael has over 37 years of airline technical operations experience. He is a licensed FAA Airframe and Powerplant Technician, and a FAA licensed Private Pilot. He has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Vocational Education from the University of Minnesota as well as a master’s degree in Technical and Professional Writing from Middle Georgia State University.
